Beat and Eat Frosting

This was a favourite on chocolate cake when I was a child.

Mix together:

1 egg white
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat at high speed to mix and add:

1/4 cup boiling water

Beat to stiff peaks
