When you are in a “Dutch” mood, here is an easy recipe.

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg (separated)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
1 cup ground pecans

Cream the butter and sugar.  Add the egg yolk, half of the nuts, flour, and vanilla.  Spread on a large cookie sheet.  Spread unbeaten egg white on top.  Sprinkle with remaining nuts.  Bake in slow oven 45 minutes to 1 hour.
