This was a big success at Alleia's 17th birthday party. They tasted great. It would be pretty easy to swap out blueberries, almonds, and/or chocolate for the cranberry/orange combination, too.
The making of gingerbread cookies came to be a Christmas tradition before we realised it. They are really good iced with a thin icing of powdered sugar and water. This recipe also works if you pat it into a cookie sheet for a gingerbread slice (ice with the same thin glaze).
This one is still a bit of a work in progress. The flavour was good but it was a little soupy so I've adjusted some of the numbers in this recipe for another trial next time.
We've made this cake once before and really liked it. We're planning to make it again for Reuben's birthday so I had to search and find it again, and then thought I'd better bookmark it in this recipe site to make it easier to find next time.
Our favourite dessert this fall is the Upside-Down Pear Gingerbread recipe from the cookbook Simply in Season. You should probably make this. Soon. IT IS SO TASTY!
