Caramel

Bev got this recipe from Mrs. Wheeler, the widow lady in whose upstairs apartment she and baby Ryan lived while Norm served in Viet Nam.  These rolls are often a Sunday morning breakfast special at our house.  At fund raising auctions, a 9x13 pan of these rolls has brought a good price.  They are usually sold quite quickly at bake sales too.

I got this recipe from my roommate from Arizona.

In heavy pan, melt:

1 pkg.  caramels (about 50)
1/3 cup evaporated milk

Set aside the above mixture.  Grease and flour a 9x13 pan.  In a large bowl mix the following:

1 pkg. German Chocolate Cake Mix
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 cup butter (melted, but not hot)

By hand, mix the dough until it holds together.  Press half of it into the pan.  Bake at 350ºF for 6 minutes.  Sprinkle with:
