Clarice made these when Ted and I went to their house for supper when we were dating and when we were first married. They were still living in the bungalow in Sioux Falls. Some of our kids really like these a lot!
5-6 pounds of ribs. (I usually use a big package of pork side rib, end cuts that are really reasonably priced here.)
In roaster bake ribs for 1/2 - 3/4 hour at 300ºF. Pour off excess fat. In separate pan bring to boil:
3/4 cup ketchup
3/4 cup water
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. chilli powder
3/4 tsp. pepper
Pour sauce over ribs and bake another 1 1/2 hours at low heat (300ºF). Save excess sauce, you can use it again.
