Going through our bar recipe files makes me hungry for some of the "old standbys" which we haven’t used for some time. Here is one that easily makes a big batch (it makes two 9x13 pans).
Blend thoroughly:
4 eggs
2 cups white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup shortening
2 tsp. vanilla
Sift and add to mixture to make smooth batter:
2 2/3 cups flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Add:
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup nuts
Bake in 2 9x13 pans at 350ºF for 30 minutes.
