A friend made this for one of our annual soup and bun suppers.
Brown, then drain:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 1/2 medium onion
Add and simmer:
- 28 oz. canned tomatoes
- 6 cups water
- 4 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 can tomato soup
- 4 chopped carrots
- 3 stalks celery (chopped)
- 1 bay leaf
- parsley
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- pepper to taste
- 8 Tbsp. barley
Serve when barley is soft.
