Onion Soup Mix

Mushroom Pork Loin

This recipe actually originated in a grocery store. They were giving out samples and it tasted so good that I took the recipe sheet home with me and later tried it out. Suggested pairing: Bruschetta Fresca. Yum.

Mix together:

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 cup quick oatmeal
1 egg
1/2 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. black pepper

Form into small meatballs and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 325ºF for 30-45 minutes or until nicely browned.  Pour off excess fat.  Pour a little water on the cookie sheet and return to oven briefly. 

Gravy:

Combine and simmer for 5 minutes:

2 cups boiling water
1/2 pkg. dry onion soup mix

Mix together, then add to hot soup mix:

After frost, blanch:

12 Late Flat Dutch Cabbage leaves

Mix together:

2 lb. lean ground beef
3/4 cup bread or cracker crumbs
2 eggs
1/2 cup ketchup
1 pkg. onion soup mix
2 Tbsp. water

Shred about 1 inch of left-over cabbage in bottom of greased 9x13 pan.  Sprinkle with:

1 cup Minute Rice

Fill blanched leaves with the meat mix and roll them up like burritos.  Put the rolls in the pan.  Cover the whole business with:
