Preheat oven to 350 F
Grease a 9X5 inch loaf panĀ ( or spray with vegetable cooking spray)
In a medium bowl, combine:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Mix well with a wooden spoon
In a large bowl, combine:
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
3 Tbsp. canola oil
2 large eggs
Mix well.
Add flour mixture, stirring until just combined.
Scrape batter into prepared pan.
Bake until top is golden and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 1 hour.
Place pan on a wire rack and cool for 10 minutes.
Turn loaf out of pan and cool completely on the rack.
