I biked over to the local farmer's market today and picked up a bunch of fall/winter produce without a real plan for what to do with it all. This was an original creation and has a lot of different "wintery" flavors blending together.
The measurements are all approximate since I didn't actually measure anything formally. I don't know the particular variety of radish that I bought at the farmer's market but it's not the really spicy kind.
2 Tbsp coconut oil
2-3 Tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
3-4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 carrot (julienned)
1 radish (peeled and julienned)
1 rutabaga (peeled and julienned)
1 kohlrabi (peeled and julienned)
1 leek (chopped)
1/2 - 1 cup fresh lima beans (optional)
2 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp soy sauce
Heat oil over medium high heat and add ginger and garlic. Stir for 1-2 minutes.
Add all but the leek and stir around until they begin to soften, then add the leeks and continue to sauté.
Add honey and soy sauce, stirring in. Reduce heat. Sprinkle with a small amount of dried basil, sage, and salt and pepper to taste.
Serve over rice. I used a short grained rice and it was nice with it -- slightly more sticky and creamy than long grained rice.
