The kids were very interested in the "light the whiskey on fire" part of this.
Dessert for the Burns supper! The kids were nervous so we cut quite far back on the whiskey volume.
"This the beet soup recipe from Pat & Mel. We had sour cream as a garnish there and I used yogurt here. Both were good." -Mom
I got this recipe from a lady who is from India. It has all of the curry called for, which might be a little strong for some.
Brown and remove to large casserole:
1/4 cup cooking oil
2 large chickens (skinned, cut up, and salted)
Pepper the chicken to taste. Combine in blender and blend well:
1 1/2 cups light cream (or whole milk)
2 cups milk
6 Tbsp. (slightly rounded) Bisquick
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried onion flakes
Pour above mixture into the drippings from the browning pan and stir. Cook to thicken slightly (add more milk if needed) then pour over chicken. Cover and bake 1/2 hour at 350ºF.
