Barbecued Chicken with Rice

This is often requested by Lori and Lloyd.  I do find it sticks to the bottom of my casserole even when I grease it.  Any suggestions?  if not, I’ll keep making it as described, scratch the crust out of the casserole as much as possible, then soak for a while to clean it.  I use a 4 quart casserole (mine has pretty irises on it).

Place the following in casserole in order given:

4 cups water
2 cups rice
2 cups diced celery
1 cup chopped onion
1 tsp. salt
1 chicken (cut in pieces)

Mix together and pour over top:

2 cans tomato soup
1 can water
1/2 cup brown sugar

Put this in the oven at 350ºF, go to church and Sunday School, when you return home you will smell something that will make you eager to belly up to the table.  I have used a quart of canned tomatoes instead of the soup and then decrease the amount of water.
