This is a recipe I made up based on a variety of online sources and the contents of our fridge. I think it turned out fairly well.
Make your favorite crust or use a store bought crust. Put it in a pie plate.
Filling:
3 apples (peel, core, slice 1/4"-1/8")
2 pears (peel, core, slice 1/4"-1/8")
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp ginger
2 Tbsp flour
Melt the butter in a frypan and add fruit. Sprinkle spices on as you mix the fruit and butter mixture. Add it into the crust when the fruit begins to soften.
Topping:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
6 Tbsp butter (cubed)
Blend all except butter, then add the butter to the blended mixture. Press on top of fruit mixture in pie crust.
Bake at 400 for 45-50 minutes.
